Privacy Policy

The data controller is the Navy team, which runs the Discord community and the navytiers.com website.

You can contact us at any time through our Discord server: discord.gg/navyy.

We only process the data needed for the site and the applications to work:

• Application form data: name or nick, Discord username, age, region, game modes and the open answers you write.
• Technical data: an irreversible hash (SHA-256) of your IP address, used only to limit repeated submissions. We do not store the IP in plain text.
• Browsing preferences stored in your browser: language, light or dark mode and accessibility settings. They never leave your device.
• Public tier list data generated by the tests: nick, Minecraft identifier, region, game mode, tier and test date.

We use the information collected exclusively to:

• Review and assess Staff and Tester applications, and contact you on Discord if you move forward in the process.
• Prevent spam, automated submissions and abuse of the form.
• Publish the tier list, the test results and the punishment list.
• Maintain and improve the site, including aggregated performance metrics.

Processing of the form data is based on your explicit consent: before submitting an application you must tick the box accepting the Terms and Conditions and this Privacy Policy. We record that acceptance together with your application.

Publishing test results and our anti-fraud measures rely on the legitimate interest of keeping a reliable tier list and a safe community. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us on Discord.

Each type of data has a different retention period:

• Applications: kept while you remain part of the community or until you request their deletion, with a maximum of 12 months from the last submission if you do not move forward in the process.
• IP address hash: used for a temporary 30-minute block and kept alongside the application for anti-fraud purposes.
• Tier list results: kept while the ranking remains public, as they are part of the community's history.

We do not sell or transfer your personal data to third parties for commercial purposes. It is only accessed by:

• The Navy team members in charge of reviewing applications, through a password-protected admin panel.
• Our hosting and database provider, which stores it on our behalf.
• Discord, when contact or the test takes place on its platform, subject to its own policies.

The site does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. What we store in your browser is:

• A session cookie, only for administrators who log in to the internal panel.
• Local language, theme and accessibility preferences, stored in your own browser.
• Aggregated, anonymous page performance metrics that do not identify any visitor.

The site and the applications are intended for people aged 13 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from children below that age.

If you are a minor under the law of your country, you should have your parents' or guardians' permission before submitting any data. If we find out, or are told, that we have received data from a child under 13, we will delete it.

You can exercise the following rights at any time by contacting us on Discord:

• Access: find out what data of yours we hold.
• Rectification: correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
• Erasure: ask us to delete your application and the associated data.
• Objection and withdrawal of consent, without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.

We apply reasonable technical measures to protect the information: encrypted HTTPS connections, security headers on every page, irreversible hashing of IP addresses, per-IP request limits, and restricted, protected access to the admin panel.

No system is completely foolproof. If a breach affecting your data occurred, we would announce it on the Discord server as soon as possible.

We may update this Privacy Policy if our services or the applicable regulations change. The date of the latest revision appears at the top of the page and relevant changes will be announced on the Discord server.
